I've played lots of MMOs, and I would say GW1 is the best I've played, ahead of Warhammer Online. GW1 is probably the game I've put the most time into in total though, so I might be a bit biased. Brave New World adds even more depth to the game and introduces some major new elements that can affect the development of your nation and its standing in the world. The endgame definitely needed improvements back when I played nearly two years ago, but this might have been fixed by now. Civilization is a strategy game series from Firaxis, where you can create a massive nation and take power over an entire world. The PvP was pretty lackluster, which was disappointing, as GW1 was designed mostly to be a PvP game and had excellent PvP. I preordered it and played it from the minute it got online, but stopped playing not too long after getting my first character to max level. I had nearly 2000 hours in GW1 (42/50 in HoM), and I did not like GW2 that much. Trading and the new culture victory are both more interactive than in G&K, and the World Congress and ideologies definitely improves the somewhat tedious late game from G&K. I played more than 500 hours on G&K before finally picking up BNW+dlc at the end on the summer sale, was definitely worth it.
